MARCH 11th 2022 Doc Scott!!!!

Driven AM presents the NYC return of a true DnB legend and owner of 31 Records..... DOC SCOTT (31 Records, UK) A true veteran and leading tastemaker in D&B, Doc Scott has been an essential and pivotal figure in the scene since before its inception and continues to push things forward. Founding member of ‘A Bunch Of Cuts’, his DJ sets in the mid-90s became legendary, notably at the Metalheadz Blue Note sessions and ‘Speed’. Although primarily a DJ, his productions are definitive classics within the scene, such as ‘Here Comes The Drumz’ on Reinforced, the first ever Metalheadz release ‘VIP Drumz’, to the more mellow sounds of ‘Tokyo Dawn’ on Good Looking Records. His own label 31 Records, sparked by Scott’s ground-breaking ‘Shadow Boxing’, has also been a hub for new talent, pushing some of the biggest artists today in their early days. Support from: TOM B. ! Just Because 4 - Feb 15th

FIGHT breaks out @ DNB Show!!!

The nyc drum and bass review corespondents were at the Just Because 4 show and Valentines love was still in the air [for most of the show...]. Around 2:00 am the show had a raffle as the DJ's were changing. It was at this time that the below DJ [to the left in the light] pushed his way out of the club [as DNB review was recording!] and pushed our reporter out of the way along with a bunch of other people. It was obvious he was pissed but it was not clear why....  About a minute later he pushed his way back to the stage and looked to be threatening the MC....  At this point the Organizers / DJs and MC's broke into 2 groups and were getting very heated. The groups had to be broken apart 6 or seven times. It seemed as though the below DJ's girlfriend had been offended and he was pissed-

dnb review was recording the entire time but the light quality is very poor :(- you can hear the DJ when he stormed back in and grabbed the mic from the organizers and said "I'm gonna kill someone". The video is labeled below-

dnb reviews staff has been going to jungle shows regularly since the late 90's and this is one of the only fights we have ever seen at a dnb show. We have all been on some very pushy dance floors but everyone gets along even after getting "bumped" pretty hard. This is not what drum and bass is about.

the upbeats @ nATURAL sELECTiON

upbeats -intro
wicked intro-

This was a fun show! New Zealand was in the house. The dance floor was packed. A little tight for me [not to much space to dance] but there was a great vibe and the floor was moving. If you were there you should check out Konkrete Jungle on Mondays. The DJ's there regularly spin at this level.
